Dried Fruit and Nut Museum

Pólo Museológico dos Frutos Secos (Dried Fruit and Nut Museum)

This museum is housed in what used to be a small factory where dried fruit and nuts were processed and sold until the 1990s, when it closed down. It recounts the history of this economic activity and its importance for Loulé as a trading hub for dried fruit and nuts. The Dried Fruit and Nut Museum opened in December 1998. Here, in this former factory, you can see the machinery that was once used to shell almonds and grind carob pods, as well as other objects and materials.
